Our Story
Joe Knehr started off in the early 90s as a painter’s helper. After he learned the painting trade, he went to a slightly bigger company and worked there for five years as a painter, and he eventually became the manager. Joe desired to start his own local company in Virginia Beach to stay close to his two small kids. He started Blue Chip Painting to provide great jobs for local painters and to offer premier house painting services for any size job.
Behind The Name
The name, Blue Chip Painting, came from a conversation with his step-father, who is involved in stocks. Blue chip stocks are some of the best. Because your home is one of the biggest investments, Joe came up with the slogan: “Protecting Your Investment,” and Blue Chip Painting was born.
Since its founding, the company has grown from one man to a large painting company of 60 local painters. Joe loves the fast pace of his business and seeing his employees succeed in their careers.
